Rubber lining has been used in industry for more than 100 years, mainly made of hot vulcanization (mainly through vulcanization tank method) hard and semi-hard rubber to improve its corrosion resistance and bonding performance. With the development of polymer materials, a variety of synthetic rubber and other materials have been gradually introduced into rubber linings, making them resistant to acid, alkali, oil, heat, impact, and highly elastic.
What type of rubber is used as lining material?
Two main types of rubber are commonly used as lining materials: natural rubber and synthetic rubber
Natural Rubber: Natural rubber linings typically contain various types of polyethylene rubber. These types of rubber are characterized by low hardness, high resilience, good flexibility and the ability to absorb and repel the corrosive effects of the material they are handling.
Synthetic Rubber: Synthetic rubber such as butyl, hypalon, neoprene and nitrile have good resistance to hydrocarbons and mineral oils.
Both types of rubber have advantages and disadvantages, so the type used as the lining material will depend on the specific needs of the application.
