The suction hose is mainly used for the rake arm part of trailing suction hopper dredger or the connection part of the bridge frame of cutter suction dredger. The suction hose can withstand both positive and negative pressure, and can continue to work within a certain dynamic bending angle. It is an indispensable rubber hose for dredgers.
The suitable ambient temperature for the suction hose is -20C ~ +50C, and it can transport seawater, fresh water and mixtures of silt, mud, clay and sand with medium specific gravity between 1.0 and 2.0.
Structural forms can be selected base on the characteristics of the dredgers and the working conditions:steel flange suction hose, sandwich flange suction hose, armored suction hose and steel cone lined suction hose.
The development of floating hose technology enables itself to implement various functions to the greatest extent and maximize the stable transportation capacity, and thus forms an independent floating pipeline composed of floating hoses, which is connected to the stern of the dredger. This not only greatly improves the efficiency of pipeline transportation, but also can be durable, and greatly reduces the cost of pipeline maintenance.
